Okay, folks. This book club is going to have to continue for several years because it was way too hard to just pick 12 books for 2016. I tried to do a mix of some books aimed at the psychology of children, some books aimed at the nitty gritty of making money as a music teacher, and hopefully the majority about how to actually teach well. Hopefully it is also a fair mix of books you are familiar with and some that are new to you. If you have already read one of these books, I encourage you to join the discussion anyway. I, for one, am looking forward to learning from the many incredible teachers that have joined the book club. Throughout each month, Brecklyn and I will post discussion questions on Facebook. I hope that we can have an ongoing discussion about what we’re learning (both what you are going to use in your studio, and the ideas you want to throw in the garbage.) At the end of the month, I will summarize the ideas into one blog post that you can easily go back to and get a “refresher course” on that book. Ready. Set.
