This week we got so much snow.  It was probably about a foot and a half total.  I have had to shovel my driveway and walk multiple times every day to keep it clear so my students could get into the studio.  Not my favorite.

On the bright side, it looks so much more like Christmas.  It’s a lovely backdrop to my students playing their Christmas music.

This week, I am still obsessed with Piano Maestro, and so are my students.  We are all having a grand time playing it, and it has been so motivating for some of my students.

Here are five more violin teaching resources that have inspired and helped me this week:
1.  I love this video by Doree Huneven about vibrato.  It’s just fabulous.  Her strategies for teaching and learning vibrato are spot on.

2.  I bought this Marketing handbook by Bree Lewis-Fennell last Friday, and I couldn’t put it down.  I love that it is so actionable and helped me really evaluate my marketing plan for my studio.  (I wrote a blog post about it this week too!)

3.  I love this podcast interview with Dr. Noa Kageyama (of The Bulletproof Musician) on the Tim Topham Piano Teaching Podcast.  It’s all about helping students cope with performance anxiety.  There are some wonderful tips here!

4.  Sleigh Ride is one of my favorite Christmas songs.  This arrangement combines this wonderful song with another love of mine: weird time signatures.  I give you Sleigh Ride in 7/8 time!  I can’t help but grin as I listen to this song.

5. Are you going to see the new Star Wars? Let this awesome video “awaken the force” in you.

Happy Holidays, everybody!
Stay Plucky!
